SQL index, veritabanı tablosundaki verilerin daha hızlı aranmasını sağlamak için kullanılan bir veri yapısıdır. Bir index veri tablosundaki verilerin bir anahtar veya anahtar değer çifti olarak sıralanmasını ve veritabanı tarafından hızlı bir şekilde aranmasını sağlar. Bir tablo içinde bir sütun veya sütunları indexlemek, verilerin aranması için daha hızlı hale gelmesini ve sorguların daha hızlı çalışmasını sağlar.
